Galatians 5:16,17,24,25

"So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires...Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives."

I love this passage so so much. They are such encouraging words to the Christian. When we feel tempted to do wrong, it is so easy to feel discouraged: like we are fighting the battle of life alone. But this passage clearly states that because we have become Christians, we have been done away with our wrongful desires. When Christ was nailed to the cross, He took care of our sin once and for all. That's not to say that we'll never have bad thoughts or intentions, but as we keep following God, He will forgive our sins if we ask Him. How amazing it is that God cares for us so much that He will pardon our sins if we only ask Him!
