God's Delight

Recently, I decided to read Psalm 37. I'm not exactly sure why I read that chapter in particular, but I suppose the verse about delighting in the Lord and Him giving you the desires of your heart has always stood out to me. I guess I wanted to see what else the Psalm had to say. As I started reading the passage, I began to continually underline verses in the passage that stuck out to me. After I was done reading, there were probably more verses underlined than not. God just kept speaking to me through His Word, that every kind action I perform on earth is not overlooked. Sure, I may "miss out" on things that people in this world deem so necessary to have an enjoyable life such as movies that are not the best, or language that is not the best; but in this passage, God clearly communicates that every little righteous act committed is worth it. He cares that we don't engage in immoral activities, even when it seems like we're the only ones on earth not getting involved in them. God sees our smiles to broken people around us, and He notices our positive attitudes.

As I kept on reading, I got to verses 23 and 24, "The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand." God is always there when we need Him. We never have to make choices alone, and we never have to worry that God doesn't care. The fact is, God cares about every single miniscule detail in our life. He cares for us when we feel alone, when we feel discouraged, and even when we are feeling the best that we can be. If we ever mess up, we never have to fall, because God is holding our hand. We are in God's grip of grace. Wow! Never has a person fallen so far that God cannot rescue him.

After reading Psalm 37, I feel so uplifted and special. Why do we ever find ourselves lonely? The Creator of the universe and the Savior of our souls holds our hand! What an amazing thought!

Just thought I'd share this with you!:)
