"Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord." Psalm 27:14 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One fruit of the Spirit that I have trouble with is patience. Ask me for kindness, you got it! You want gentleness, I've got a fresh supply. But patience...oh patience. Ever since I was a little tyke, I can see my lack of patience, even though I've tried to deny it definitely. The evidence is one such home video of my 3rd birthday. Daddy said that I had a present, but then he went too far. He said that he'd give it to me for Christmas. My first response was a dragging and complaining "NOOO! I waaant it!"
Patience. Whether it's waiting for a new possession, a crowded hallway in school, an upcoming weekend, a holiday, or my life to just scurry on by--patience is quite involved in my life (or at least the lack of it). I love to be able to have a grasp on life's situations, and when those life situations are far away, then I feel as if …

Sometimes in life it's so difficult to be content. I know it is for me. It seems like I'm always looking forward to the next big thing in life. In junior high, it was high school; now for me, it's college. Soon it'll be marriage, then kids, then grandkids...and so on.

But what am I doing today to change the world and enjoy the moments that I am given? I can daydream all I want about my future and what I'm going to do when I get older for God, but what I often don't realize is that I can do something in the here in now for God--stay open to Him and be a vessel that He works through.
When we as God's children are open to what He wants to do in our lives, even if we don't know what that is--God can use us beyond anything we could ask or imagine. And it may seem a little backwards to have the mentality that God can work in us even when we don't even know what He is working through--but that's just the way that God works sometimes. His ways are better…

As I ponder my life and the multitude of blessings I've been given, I can't help but give God so much thanks. I could probably sit down for more than twenty-four hours and constantly rattle off things that I am thankful for--blessings that I don't deserve but what God gives to me anyways.

One blessing, for example, is another day. While this may seem like an ordinary blessing, to me it is definitely extraordinary.

God is not finished with us yet; He has a plan and purpose for our lives; He has given us a fresh new joy everyday; He gives us breath and grace and freedom--all these blessings come with another day.

Sometimes the simple things in life are some of the most special and noteworthy of all.

May we never forget to praise and thank God everyday for all the big and even little blessings He gives us--for His contentment and joy truly come when we think about such things.
The sensation of Your presence overwhelms me.
The power of Your love makes me utterly free.
That you hold me in Your hands and never let me go--
Your Spirit lives within me, a beautiful, brilliant flow.
My past and my present aren't hidden from Your sight.
My future in Your mind is tender and bright.
All of my suffering and all of life's pain
Are covered in Your comfort and drenched in Your rain.
Fear is not my ruler, darkness does not prevail.
In You, I find no disappointments; You never fail.
